What's your take on the fabled Jack-Kate-Sawyer love triangle?
Honestly — and I don't know exactly how this will sound — the honest truth is that I don't think of it as Jack, Kate and Sawyer. I think of it as Jack and Kate. The Sawyer element of it I don't even consider a reality. I'm really pleased with where Jack and Kate are. I think in the two years that we've been doing this show — which would amount to a couple months on this island — they are at their closest point. I think Jack's being a little bit more forgiving of her shortcomings or deceptions or misleading things in the past. I think there is a very deep desire there [for a relationship], and not just physical but emotional. There is a connection, and it's deep, and there's been so much in the way of that in the past, and I do think the year will end...[Fox suddenly interrupts himself, perhaps catching himself about to reveal more than he'd like.] At the same time, I've always maintained that you can't create the story we're creating and have people gleefully walking down the beach at sunset holding hands. It's not the story; it's not conducive to that. I think there will be a time when that's capable, but with everything that's happening on the show right now, it's not the kind of thing that would happen. So I think that while Jack and Kate are the closest they've ever been, and feel the most comfortable around each other and dealing with this thing that exists between them, there are other elements and other circumstances that are preventing it from being anything...

Quel est votre opinion sur le triangle amoureux Jack-Kate-Sawyer ?
Honnêtement, je ne sais pas exactement ce que cela va donner mais, la pure vérité est que je le ne vois pas [ce triangle] comme Jack, Kate et Sawyer. Je le vois juste entre Jack et Kate. Je ne considère pas l'élément Sawyer comme une réalité. Je suis très satisfait de l'endroit où en sont Jack et Kate. Je pense que durant les deux années de tournage de cette série, qui correspond à deux mois sur cette île, ils en sont à leur plus important rapprochement. Je pense que Jack devient plus conciliant avec les erreurs, mensonges passés de Kate. Je pense qu'il y a un profond désir [dans cette relation], et pas simplement physique mais émotionnelle. Il y a une connexion profonde, et cet aspect a était traité par le passé, et je pense vraiment que cette année va finir sur… [ Foxy s'interrompt soudainement, peut être pour s'empêcher de révéler plus que ce qu'il ne devrait ]. En même temps, j'ai toujours maintenu le fait que vous ne pouvez pas créer l'histoire que nous sommes en train de créer et avoir des personnes [entendre personnages] marcher joyeusement le long de la plage en se tenant la main. Ce n'est pas l'histoire ; ce n'est pas là où ça mène. Je pense qu'il y aura un temps où cela sera possible, mais avec tout ce qui passe dans le show en ce moment, ce n'est pas le genre de chose qui va arriver. Donc je pense que tandis que Jack et Kate sont le plus proche qu'ils l'ont été, et sont à l'aise en eux et font face au fait que ce lien existe entre eux, il y a d'autres éléments et d'autres circonstances qui empêchent cela de devenir autre chose.
